Oh, the year that was (and still is). Highs and lows. Ebbs and flows. Soft starts and firm completions. Joys and sorrows. Things settled and things up in the air.
Sometimes, things in life can derail our grandest intentions and deflate our bandwidth. which is what happened with me, much of it just in the last few weeks. When paying attention and surrendering to what’s in front of you, it can lead to making more important and necessary choices, setting aside the grand for later. This is where I am right now. Still in the thick of it, and as I often do, I’ll share the insights as I learn them.
It is helpful to reflect on the year that was, sometimes even more so when things are challenging.
Reflecting on what has been is a gift in so many ways. I’m finding that even in challenging times, there are lessons and sparks of joy. Sparks of joy inside moments.
Simply, with this natural process of year-end assessment ask:
How am I doing? What is there still to do? What was accomplished? What worked, what didn’t?
How do you ponder and review?
For me, I take pen to paper and hash things out. Often it takes on a larger form worth sharing in a yearend reflection which I’m working on.
I compiled some key questions that go beyond the surface. I’d love to share it with you, in case you're doing the same thing.
Here it is. Easy peasy.
As always, would love to hear your thoughts.
Does anything come to light that surprised you?
